ELF-RC Europe Delegates Pass A Four-Point Resolution from Frankfurt Print E-mail
By Gedab News - Jan 07, 2003

In the wake of the crisis between their organization and the Eritrean National Alliance (ENA), Eritrean Liberation Front Revolutionary Council (ELF-RC) representatives from different branches in European cities met in Frankfurt, Germany to conduct an organizational assessment.

At the end of the closed session, which was not open to ELF-RC senior leadership, the attendants passed a four-point resolution, which were eventually submitted to the ELF-RC leadership. The resolutions called for the immediate setting up of an ELF-RC "Dialogue Committee" to seek ways to mend the rift with the ENA; convening a meeting of ELF-RC leadership or, failing that, an organizational congress to assess the role of the ELF-RC in the deterioration of its relationship with the ENA and findout the "root causes"; to review the administrative structure of the organization's media outlets to ensure that they are not beholden to only one viewpoint and, finally, to name the delegates from the German office to follow-up on the resolutions just passed and report back on their progress.

Earlier, the ELF-RC has named Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Nasser, head of the "Unity Affairs" desk to head the dialogue committee. As reported previously by Gedab News on November 19, the ENA has named a "dialogue committee" made up of Mr. Tahir Shengeb, deputy secretary of the ENA, Mr. Hamid Turki, head of the political office and Mr. Hassen Assad, the head of the information office.

Meanwhile, Mr. Seyoum Ogbamichael, Chairman of ELF-RC, is expected to participate in the forthcoming North America branch meeting of the ELF-RC which is scheduled to be held in Houston on January 17, 2003.
