Badume

11.30 GMT, the 13th of April 2002.The Hague,

Verdict: “The border runs South of Badume”.

Hallelujah! Ululations, jubilation, Champagne, dances and a speech of:

DIA: As we always did, we will now also abide by international law and accept the verdict of The Hague. We were victims of Weyane aggression and Sudanese collaboration; the whole world collaborated against us. We won the war, we won mediation; we won then and we win now. Our people, endowed with the good leadership it has, achieved miracles. It was the correct policies we had pursued that have taken you to this victory. Today, It is your day, it is Warsai´s day, and it is Yekalou´s day. Today, it is the aggressor that lost but the traitors, defeatists, fifth columnists and Jihadists too have lost a lot, for they all supported the Agame enemy in a way or another. We will partially demobilize those in the trenches, for there are still some unfinished tasks waiting. We have to silence more dissents, we have to settle it with the Sudan too and then we will see if there are some more elsewhere to settle. To achieve all our goals we need resources, we need more money from the Diaspora Eritrea. We have now ample land on Badume, demobilized Warsai, Yekalou and other landless people, especially those who stood and will stand by us in Diaspora will be allocated some arable land in the empty meadows of Badume.  Hatela, gillet, and the enda-mess bad mouthing, blah, blah and blah, ….

AENF: We congratulate our people. We have always reiterated Badume was Eritrean and we wouldn’t have accepted the outcome if it had been otherwise. Peaceful settlement of conflicts between neighbors is an integral part of our principles; now the task ahead is national reconciliation and political pluralism, blah, blah…

EPLF-DP: We congratulate our people and our defense forces; we congratulate warsai and Yekalou. It is now time for DIA to come to his senses, release our friends in captivity and convene a meeting of the PFDJ Central Committee to evaluate what went before, implement The Constitution and carry out elections, blah, blah…

T. Negasse: Wetrou awet ne wdi Afewrqi and hafash. Now we have to concentrate on development of new prisons; we have to arrest more defeatists and non-defeatists too, we have to silence awate.com and all mass media, I hate them. Most Eritreans are traitors and we have to arrest them all, blah, blah, and blah, …

Dehai: Mute the voiceless, we defeated the Agame areyti bels, we are a superior race, and we are unique. Now the world knows the difference between the mediocre Tigray nationality and the great Tigrenga nationality, blah, blah….

Asmarino: The man of the year and all years, the man of Badume, blah, blah, …

Awate Team: Loume wgeha, Icons, legends and non-legends, More Tabooland, Negaret`s reverberations of reconciliation. No body will be left out from baboor of reconciliation but sits reserved for secularists only, others have to stand, blah, blah…

Messelna: Latest Developments, Media News, Press Release, latest articles, Miscellaneous

Beni Amer: Did Shabia end its imposed conscriptions? Is it raining in Badume? Is there enough pasture this year? Has Settit flooded? Are the Weyane Shifta still around? Akhbar addam wa neway, dehan wa aman?

RKPHA: Our grand mother Kuname came from Axum and there was a king called Bazen. However, Abyssinians are very greedy, like hyenas they fight over their prey, they chase each other to eat alone. The winner dances and celebrates. Look at all this jubilation. We have to be recognized and reinstated the legitimate owners of this land.

The Kunama People: justice has not yet been done. The court must continue; its task has not yet been finished. Whose land they are talking about? Empty land! And we! We care the least where the borderline runs, our grandmother Kuname came from nowhere. There was a huge rock called Kuname overlooking the whole Gash Settit region and beyond. A big pang and the rock shattered into small pieces and scattered over a large area.  The pieces germinated and we the Kunama people grew from the soil tall and proud. We have been living here since one day after the creation of the planet earth. We are the roots we are the hosts. We demand Justice to be done.

11.30 GMT, the 13th of April 2002. The Hague,

Verdict: “The border runs North of Badume”

Hallelujah! Ululation, jubilation, Champagne, dances, and a speech of:

Zenawe: We were victims of Shabia’s aggression; we were defending our territorial integrity as the great heroic Ethiopian people, for 4000 years, had always done. We will abide by international law as we always did. This is not a gift from the international community; we achieved it by our own bravery. Ethiopians do not wait others to do them just, they take it and we did. Nevertheless, we have to accept the verdict of The Hague to legitimize our hard won land.  Justice has been done any way. The people who defended Badume and other landless Tigray people will be given land in the empty meadows of Badume, they deserve it, blah, blah, and blah…

Ethiopian opposition: Ethiopian border extends to the Red Sea. Zenawe made-up the war and arbitration in collaboration with Issayas to bestow Eritrea a lasting documented borders. Assab also should have been Ethiopian, accepting this outcome is an act of treason committed by Weyane. When we come to power we will take the whole Eritrea, it belongs to us, that is what we had been taught in primary school, blah, blah, blah…

Deqe Alula: The war is not yet over and Asseb is part of Tigray. The Eritrean Zenawe aborted it before it accomplishes its goals. Atsey Johannes is angry on him. Ras Alula is restless in his grave, we are waiting for his rebirth, blah, blah, blah, …

All-Amhra Party: Zeraff, zeraff, aree gedadyee, anbessa gedayee, aree Assebewou, aree Assebye. Tigre kedayee Tigre kedangee, ehihi ehihi, blah, blah, blah…

Mao Anbessa Party: If Janhoi were alive!  ye Janhoi ashker ouhhhom, ye Mesfin ashker ouhhhom, ye Kasa ashker ouhhhom, blah, blah…

Mekele Boys: Melles lai menn eyu ! laina, Badume lai menn eyu? Layna! Mereb lai menn eyu? Laina! Mret lai menn eyu? Laina, Bgayet lai menn eya? laina, laina. weyn loume! Weyn, ay teharess loume, weyn, blah blah,…

Arada Boys (Merkato): Blanbar sbereleshe blanbar sbereleshe, ahouhou wendu lijeshe. Blanbar sberelewou blanbar sberelewou, ahouhou; Etiopiawe lijewou. Badume sberelewou Badume sberelewou, ahouhou; anbessaw lijewou. Shabeya sberelewou Shabeya sberelewou, ahouhou; Etiopiawe anbessawou.

RKPHA: We are from Tigray, our grand mother Kuname came from Axum and there was a king called Bazen. However, Abyssinians are very greedy, like hyenas they fight over their prey, they chase each other to eat alone. The winner dances and celebrates. Look at all this jubilation. We have to be recognized and reinstated as the legitimate owners of this land.

The Kunama People: No, no, justice has not yet been done. The court in Hague must continue; its task has not yet been finished. The pieces germinated and we the Kunama people grew on the soil, tall and proud. We have been living here since one day after the creation of the planet earth. We are the roots we are the hosts. We demand Justice to be done.

Court at The Hague: Before we looked at the maps, before we heard claims, before we decided on where the borderline runs, we had found out that Badume is Kunama. Whoever wins it, wherever the borders runs, north or south of it, The Kunama people should be recognized as the absolute owners of their communal land. The court had also found out that Kunama have always been good hospitable hosts and therefore we order all those who want them to be good Eritreans or good Ethiopians and share them their land should first themselves behave as good guests do. Both Eritrean and Ethiopian Abyssinians should understand this fact. We have decided also to take the verdict farther; all local communities in Eritrea, Ethiopia and all over Africa are the absolute masters on their ancestral land.

Eed le aqeb (hands up)! - Border North or South, Badume is Kunama. Write it down now in the great books:- those who deny this basic right to the people, TAKE THEIR FINGERPRINTS, People’s courts will soon be in session.
