STATEMENT BY AMBASSADOR ABDELA ADEM Print E-mail
By Administrator - Sep 25, 2002

I joined the armed struggle for Eritrean liberation when I was very young in the late 60’s.  I have served the cause of independence and my country in different capacities: an ordinary fighter, army commander, as member of the central committee and, after the independence of Eritrea, as a member of the National Assembly, Governor and Ambassador.  I am proud to have served the cause of independence and my country.

It is with tremendous sadness that I leave my post as Eritrea’s Ambassador to the Sudan and completely disassociate myself from the government in Asmara and PFDJ.  It has become impossible for me to continue in the face of ceaseless abuse of the human rights of Eritreans, the senseless arrest of senior EPLF fighters, who are heroes of the war of liberation, and mindless and destructive handling of the fate of our future generation - the Eritrean youth.

Long live Eritrea!

Glory to our martyrs!
