A news item issued by the Information Department of the Eritrean National Salvation Front (ENSF) indicates that its armed units attacked an Eritrean government intelligence camp in Molokhseito (Monokhseito), in the Senafe region, close to the Eritrean-Ethiopian border.

The news indicated the attack was carried out at 1am on September 20.

The ENSF took three prisoners from the Eritrean government forces: Negassi Gebremichael, unit medic; Solomon Mesfin, radio operator; and Mulatu Desta, a soldier.

.
The communique also stated that ENSF seized documents belonging to Battalion 3 of division 13, two communication radios and an AK 47 rifle.

.
Reached by telephone in Addis Ababa, Mr. Abdella Mahmoud, an ENSF reprsentative, informed Gedab News that the prisoners “underwent medical examination and they are in good health.” Abdella added, “once they are debriefed, they will be sent to Shimelba refugee camp [in Tigray, Ethiopia] where they will decide what they want to do.” On May 2007, a commando unit infiltrated an ENSF camp inside Ethiopia and killed two combatants and took one prisoner. "The latest operation is code named after martyr Ali Hassen and his colleague," who were killed in the attack of last year.

.
Abdella Mahmoud is the director of information of ENSF and chairman of the legislative council of Eritrean Democratic Alliance, the umbrella organization grouping 13 Eritrean opposition groups including ENSF.

.
Asked whether the next of kin of the prisoners were informed, Abdella said, “luckily, one of the prisoners was a radio operator: our units asked him to contact his commanders and he informed them.”

The ENSF camp that was attacked was an advance intelligence unit charged with espionage guarding the border with Ethiopia.
