Awate: Wanted Dead Or Alive Print E-mail
Awate - The Fertile Womb
By Awate Team - Sep 01, 2008

Each year on September 1, we felt handicapped because we could not present any biographical information about Hamid Idris Awate, the man who led the challenge to Haile Sellassies’ government and trailed the path for the armed struggle in pursuit of justice and freedom for his people and country. (This website is named in his honor.) Except for the little information that was published about him by Saghem, which had briefly influenced the thinking of the current government, nothing had come out about him. But now, thanks to Mr. Mohammed Saeed Naud, the elder statesman and the founder of Eritrean Liberation Movement (ELM, also known as Haraka or Mahber Shewate), we have a wealth of information about Hamid Idris Awate in the Internet.
