In a telephone conversation, Adhanom informed Gedab News that he “gave Dr Frazier a detailed explanation regarding the upcoming May 5th Congress of the Eritrean political organizations.” He also indicated that Eritrean civil societies and religious leaders would be attending the congress as observers.

Dr. Frazier wished Adhanom luck in his activities and emphasized “unity is strength and that she sympathizes with the suffering Eritrean people.”

On April 5, 2008, Adhanom held a teleconference with members of the Eritrean Global Solidarity (EGS) in the USA & Canada to discuss aspects of the planned congress.

On April 12, 2008, Adhanom met with delegates from the Eritrean opposition organizations residing in the USA for a similar briefing.
