Gedab News learned that the Eritrean Global Solidarity, an umbrella organization grouping civic societies, human right organizations and media outlets in North America, in its conference of Sunday Dec 30, 2008, has elected directors for its executive branch composed of five offices.

The executive branch directors were elected from the board of directors which is composed of one representative from each organization.

Semere T. Habtemarian was elected director general, while Fouzia Mohammed Hassen was elected Secretary of the umbrella Group. Dr. Yonas Mehari was elected organizations affairs director, Hailemariam Tesfai, fundraising director, and Tesfaledet Maharenna was elected director of projects.

The organizations will soon launch a website that will include contact addresses, project information and membership guidelines. The organization's constitution and bylaws will also be published on the website.
