The civic organizations deemed it necessary to genuinely work together stressing the fact that there is nothing (and there should be nothing) that should prevent them from working together to achieve their common goals. Indeed, "we owe it to ourselves and our people to find ways to work together". "Unnecessary duplication of work" and "reinventing the wheels" have already damaged our standing and squandered our meager resources.
It is with the spirit of hope that the twelve civic organizations decided to hold their first founding conference in Washington, DC on December 15, 2007. All current members will attend the conference that will discuss, among other things, future activities and the structure of the Eritrean Solidarity.
It is expected that other international regions namely Europe, Australia, Middle East and Sudan will also hold their conferences to prepare for a global conference of the Eritrean Solidarity. The Eritrean Solidarity calls on all member and friendly civic organizations to hasten the convening of their respective regional conferences to pave the way for a global conference.
Since the Eritrean Solidarity is an open umbrella for all civic organization, all those organized on the local level are invited (and urged) to attend and be part of the upcoming founding conference.
