Deautchland uber ales cried Hitler, and the poor early 20th century Germans followed him down the cliff to oblivion. Germany would have been uber ales without waging destructive wars and without committing grave mistakes that resulted in great human losses and sufferings.

Before Hitler, Germany had all the elements needed to lead a normal life. Yet, for Hitler, life without war and blood-shed was not worth living. He was a staunch believer of the doctrine that advocated living Un giorno di Leone instead of living Cento anni di pecora. So was his closest ally and friend Mussolini. Well, Mussolini thought he lived like a lion but certainly, he did not die like one: instead, he died like a stray dog, not even like a humble goat the Pecora he so much despised. His gang-mate Hitler, died like a Bat in a dark gloomy banker with a certain madchen probably named Gretchen, after he succeeded in making Germany and the rest of Europe Under ales.

Der Fuhrer, was evil and he influenced a lot of people, similarly possessed by the evil spirit like him. Many Midget-Hitlers would like to pursue Hitlers goals eventhough they do not command anything close to the resources that he commanded. This unfortunate (or fortunate) lack of Hitlerite-resources is the main cause for their continuos frustrations and outbursts. Yet, they do what ever they can, at least to imitate himwho says Africans are not ambitious to transfer Western Technology? They do -- to the graves that they dig!

Military rallies and the perfection of blocks of army formations and other liberation day parades and processions are just a small satisfaction to their sick egos. The bigger satisfaction comes from disposing off the meager national resources by directing it towards strengthening the war machine. In peace time, they are poor; but in times of war, they have all the necessary financing to embark on a weapon shopping spree.

In a macho society, the call for militarization is always successful. A segment of the population in such societies believes that its only mission in life is to fight. Histories of such societies are full of battles and wars that in most cases were meaningless apart from creating hallow myths. For the most part of their history, such societies were habitually entangled in raids, counter raids and conspiracies. Returning home to a heroic welcome and ululating women after pillaging another village was very appealing to the machos of those days and it made the young yearn for more war and raids to satiate their egos. That was an accepted way of life in ancient times. Trying to preserve such cultures and attitudes in modern times, when people have better things to do instead, is immoral and stupid. The mentality of the middle-ages is just not fit for today.

Leaders come out from within societies and reflect the psyche of their societies. A worrier society breeds worrier leaders. A peaceful society breeds peaceful leaders. It is the nature of man to be aggressive and warlike; but that was supposed to be true only in primitive societies. Certainly, a tree grows and society should grow from the life-style of ancient cave-man. When a society does, it is easy to tell.

Mature societies are those who have developed enough to appreciate the blessing of peace and stability. The aggressive and warlike individuals among such societies are a minority who are considered an outcast. But when the larger segment of a society is aggressive and warlike, the peaceful segment is considered an outcast. The Doves in such societies tirelessly try to influence the war-craving among them to embrace peace and instill pacifist attitudes in their tormented soul. The result will naturally look like a tug-of-war with teams of uneven power. Many times, the struggle between the two reaches its' Hiatus. The worriers present reasons for waging a war that is totally unacceptable to the peace-loving segment of the society but yet they all pay the price regardless of which side of the table, rather the Cave, they sit.

Peace is expensive indeed. And accepting the fact that peace is really expensive can be considered half the solution to a given bloody confrontation. Crying for peace without being ready to pay the price is dishonesty at worse, and misleading at best. No cheap peace will be sustainable and everlasting. Peace, that is acquired with a cheap sacrifice, is not genuine and will not hold for a long time.

Attitudes are critical to the reign of peace. Many times, belligerent attitudes lead to unwarranted turmoil and bloodshed. People with belligerent attitudes do not think in strategic terms and are preoccupied with winning the war that they ignite. The common man, who was not part of the problem, ends up paying more than the perpetrators. Societies with a high level of appreciation for life will not heed to the path of war without thinking twice. A war without reason and justification is never won, it is always lost even when militarily, one would think otherwise. Nothing positive comes out of war. The natural result, after a war, is that people will have to embark on the tougher task of reconstructing what was destroyed during the war. Ironically, what was reconstructed might be destroyed by yet another war after which it will be reconstructed again pending the ignition of yet another meaningless war. That is called societal bankruptcy.

Until he is successfully tamed, a warriors ego is un-satiable. War can only be avoided when people are taught to appreciate peace. The rewards of peace are great. but only if peace is appreciated. War is noisy and peace is quite; yet the silence of peace is deafening. It is soothing to know that "Noises never won a war let alone peace".
