Eritrean Student Arrested In South Africa Print E-mail
By Gedab News - Nov 09, 2002

On November 3, 2002, an Eritrean student attempting to travel to the United Kingdom was detained by South African airport authorities in Cape Town, a source informs Gedab News.   The student was released after his friends "negotiated" with Ms. Lula Gebreyesus who heads the so-called African Institute for Policy Analysis, a think tank considered a PFDJ shell by many Eritrean students in South Africa.

The student, who had a valid visa to travel to the UK, was given no reason for his arrest.  He is currently attempting to secure his passport, which is still withheld by the authorities.
