In spite of the wishful dreams of instituting a democratic government in Eritrea, there is considerable skepticism in the hearts of many Eritreans (especially those in government) about the feasibility of democracy in the country. Very few of us seem to be convinced that a democratic system will not lead the country into ethnic and religious turmoil. So let’s approach the following ideas for an experimental Eritrean Democracy in exile with an open heart as it might prove to those who are skeptical that we are a civilized people and that democracy will only strengthen our unity and development. |
