A Stubborn Refusal To Be Relevant

Unless the EDA is able to answer these questions and unless it can demonstrate a record of achievement, however modest the achievement may be, it cannot expect a groundswell of support for its activities and objectives.  And, every year that it fails to record an accomplishment, it will continue on its path of irrelevance.

The Gates of Hell (Horn of Africa Edition)

We appeal to them to reject the call of the absolutists and those who insist in sharpening differences and creating an us-vs-them environment.   The outlines of the deal that will be offered after a disastrous war are the same ones that can be negotiated before the war. We hope our Somali and Ethiopian brothers will skip the war and go straight to mediation.

Say No To Frustration

Our moral outrage should continue to be directed at those most responsible for the misery of the Eritrean people—Isaias and his clique.  It is not the opposition holding parents for ransom for their missing children: it is the Isaias clique.  It is not the opposition that is disappearing and torturing our youth: it is the Isaias clique. We need to keep our eyes on the ball.

But those in Diaspora who participated in PFDJ meetings to pass condemnatory resolutions without seeing any evidence—and those who chose to be silent--are as bloody-handed as those who ordered the arrests. And until they recant and correct themselves, there will be no justice in Eritrea.

EDA: How To Break The Stalemate
