George Bush: His Radical & Welcome Correction
By Awate Team - Nov 17, 2003
"Mr. Bush, Eritrea, too, is ready for democracy. The forces for democracy are being enslaved by the PFDJ clique. The forces for democracy have spokespersons, and it is not Isaias Afwerki and his henchmen. Mr. President, stay true to your word and do not accommodate and excuse tyrants like Isaias Afwerki and his supporters." That is our message and we will continue to provide you with updates on the progress of our work

Responses to Our Call To The Moderates
By Awate Team - Nov 04, 2003
Some Eritreans, the hardliners, described our effort as naieve. They told us that a "moderate Ethiopian" is a contradiction in terms. They don't exist, good luck finding them, they advised. We are very pleased by the responses that we have received todate, which confirms our belief. What we are facing is a very difficult problem; what we are suggesting is that we should guard against making it an impossible problem.

In Search Of Justice: Hail Defiance
By The Awate Team - Sep 12, 2003
On September 18, it will be two years since elders in their late seventies and eighties (who tried to reconcile the leaders), together with high-ranking government officials (who challenged the regime to implement the constitution and hand power to the people) were jailed. So far, none of the jailed was officially charged and they all continue to be denied visitation rights.
