PFDJ officials and their supporters often say that in Eritrea nobody is arrested for expressing his/her opinion. But that is precisely what happened to an individual who disagreed with the government's "mother-tongue education", Idris Aba-Are, a veteran EPLF combatant and one of many dissident Eritreans languishing in prison without charges in the hopes of breaking the spirit. But this is futile. As Idris Aba Are wrote: "for the hammer to arrogantly increase its beating is something that will not contribute to anything but to the polishing of the anvil." |
