The Short coming of the interview: There is no mention of the most contentious issue between Ethiopia and Eritrea, the border issue. The Ethio-Eritrean war is one of the most regrettable and devastating wars. More badly the no-peace, no-war scenario is killing Eritrea. And PM Meles is partly responsible. |

If you have read Ato Yosief’s article, liked it and identified with it, then it must be because of its mainly lamentation-of-the-dead like setting and not of its reasoning power. Its effect on you must have been as the effect of the wailing of Iona on the ears of his horse. If you like that essay, you must have done that because of its air of grief exposition mimicking a session of melqes መልቀስ, not unlike those coffee gatherings of our mothers in my childhood, albeit electronic. |

I think this is what Daniel G. Mikael is inviting with his call to the Next Revolution. |

Is there some scientific or astrological rule that says the end of dictatorship is nearing for Eritrea as well? Let’s hope so. May be there will be a miracle. May be there won’t. But it shouldn’t stop us from switching gears and pressing forward. |

The recent EDA declaration stresses the need for governments and international organizations to address the issue of Eritrean refugees. This is a concern in the right direction and gives the EDA a moral latitude expected of its leadership. However, more will be required to continue to hammer the issue at international conferences, meeting with governments and international civic and human rights organizations. |
