They say, "History is the supreme judge of history itself". Unfortunately, I do not know who 'they' are, and I am not sure if they ever said that. But hey, you can quote me on that. History is definitely the supreme judge of our actions. It does not matter on whose side we are fighting or what we got right or wrong, we will always be judged by history.

What the Asmara Administration wants Eritreans to see is its mass mobilization efforts with endless monetary aid pouring into its coffers as insignia of how a good of a job it is doing as it is literally killing the country softly. But, what we are witnessing in Eritrea today is a nation turning into a failed State at an ever--rapid speed that nothing short of fighting it tooth and nail will do.

As Eritreans we looked forward with zeal to get our independence to be able to live in a country of our own free from occupation. It was a long bitter journey full of obstacles. During this arduous journey we failed to notice and neglected one important component part that plays a crucial roll in the making of a nation: we neglected our historical, social, cultural, traditional, religious and moral values.

Currently, we are watching the alarming military buildup along the Ethio-Eritrean border, where “the threat of war is very real”4; and we all know that wars –as Goethe would say “… make many unhappy while they last and none happy when they are over.”5
