Dr. Jandaye Frazier meets Eritrean Opposition Delegation

A five-member delegation led by Mr. Adhanom Gebremariam met with Dr. Jandaye Frazier, US Asst. Secretary of State, yesterday April 21, 2008. Several officials of the State Department, including Ms Sarah Skorupski, head of the Eritrean and Djibouti desk, were present in the meeting.

Eritrea and Djibouti, a Border Crisis

Djibouti accuses Eritrean forces of encroaching seven kilometers inside its territories in the Dumera region bordering the two countries. Eritrea, however, insists that its forces are in sovereign Eritrean territories.

Mohammed Saeed Barih Passed Away

Over the years, Mohammed held a variety of posts with the EPLF, including as a member of its Politburo and its Central Committee. After Eritrea’s independence in 1991, he served as the first foreign minister of the transitional government and, later on, as the governor of Anseba.
